THE FIRST CRUSADE

 

            You have learned some of the basics about the beginnings of the Crusades.  The most successful of the Crusades was the First Crusades.  Most of lesson for this assignment is going to come from an online class located at Boise State University.  We are going to use their resources to learn about the First Crusade.

 

            For this lesson, you are going to write an editorial for a mythical newspaper called the Muslim News.  The focus of the editorial will be the battle for Jerusalem.    Please note the name of the newspaper in writing your editorial. Your editorial will discuss the actions of the Crusaders during and after the battle.  Remember to receive full credit your editorial must contain all the educational objectives.  The assignment is 40 points.

 

Educational Objectives –

 

1.         You will be able to name the main leaders of the First Crusade.

 

2.         You will be able to list the Christian kingdoms established after the First Crusade.

 

3.         You will be able to describe the actions of the Crusaders during and after the battle for Jerusalem.

 

4.         You will be able to explain why the Crusaders took the actions that they did during and after the battle for Jerusalem.
