INNER/OUTER CIRCLE DISCUSSION

 

One of the continuing controversies in juvenile justice is whether juveniles should be tried as adults.  To  explore, this issue, we are going to conduct an Inner/outer circle discussion over this issue. 

 

 Essential Question - SHOULD JUVENILES BE TRIED AS ADULTS?

Your grade for this discussion will come from two parts.

 

First,  eighty (80 points) will be the submission of a set of talking points to use in our discussion.  You will be required to submit eight (8) talking points.   You must list a source for each talking point.  A “talking point” is a fact or argument which you could use in the discussion. 

 

Second, the final one hundred (100) points will be an inner outer circle discussion.  Some of you have participated in one of these in my other classes.  The biggest mistake people make is not talking.  Also, make sure you examine the rubric prior to the discussion.

 

I will be giving other additional instructions as you are preparing for this discussion.
