This is a new addition to the Bay social studies classes. We will be focusing on the recent history of the United States. Economic, social, and political isssues will be explored to allow our students to better informed on the potential problems which our students will face as they become voting citizens in the near future. We will not shy away from an issue simply because it is controversial.
Many of the assessments we will doing in this class will be based on discussions and projects which students will prepare. At this point, we do not have a specific textbook which we will be using. Instead, we will use parts of various texts as well as handouts from other sources. Often we will use the onine textbook which can be found at the Digital History website.
